VISA REQUIREMENTS
You intend to study in Germany and you have a foreign nationality not belonging to the EU or a country having signed a bilateral agreement with Germany? This means you might need a visa to enter Germany for study purposes. Students from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea (Republic of Korea), and the U.S.A. can enter Germany without a visa and can apply for a residence permit after their arrival. EU residents do not need one.
We would advise you to check the visa requirements with the German Embassy or Consular of your home country in due time as you personally are responsible for obtaining the appropriate documentation, such as a residence and a study permit as well as a financial declaration. The visa application procedure in general takes about 8 weeks. FH Osnabrück will provide you with an invitation letter, if required. For further information please also see the following links:
