B.A. Nursing and Health Care Management
To optimize the conflict of care and economy, the aim of the bachelor programme Nursing and Health Care Management is to transfer managerial as well as health care related insights and methods. Independent qualifications as communication skills, creativity, analytical and conceptional skills will be enhanced, too. Students will learn how to improve the efficiency of healthcare institutions.
The study programme prepares students for qualified administration functions and management functions in healthcare institutions, especially for the following occupational areas:
Management positions in the nursing service (Nursing Management)
Business management positions in hospitals, institutions for elderly care, institutions of non-stationary care, rehabilitation and prevention
Managerial and custodial management positions in associations, health insurance companies, care insurance companies, universities and research institutions, institutions of health care administration and companies that provide products and services for the health care sector
Based on an apprenticeship in the care sector, graduates have the competence to establish and evaluate new management concepts. In addition to this managerial professional competence, communication skills, social skills and management skills will be strengthened and enhanced.
Nursing and Health Care Management is an eight semester part-time study programme. Six semesters have to be studied at Fachhochschule Osnabrueck. The modules of the first two semesters refer to competences gained during their professional experience and will be acknowledged by passing an entry-level test. There will be two phases of presence of two weeks each semester.
With the successful completion of the final exams the student is awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Arts ( B.A.).
